Inevitably, I ruin all of them along the way. The trick is to keep going and believe beauty is there still.
I am Sierra, a watercolor artist & Christ follower—inspired by wildflowers and woodlands. I spend my days teaching third graders at a local school district, and my evenings are devoted to my children and passion for painting. My art isn’t about perfection. It’s about finding joy in quiet moments and translating that peace onto paper. Each brushstroke speaks to my love of the natural world and my desire to share the tranquility I find there with others.
I have always been an artist, as all children are, but I lost my connection after high school. It wasn't until much later in life that the Lord reminded me of my love for drawing and my desire to create beautiful things. I had returned to school to get my teaching license. During my final year, I enrolled in an art education class for elementary teachers. It was at that time that our family suffered a sudden and tragic loss. The art class was a much needed respite amidst terrible pain. Back then, I made art to feel whole again; it was a connection to happier times.
Today, I make art because it brings me joy. Together with my love of gardening and flowers of every kind, I simply want to make my small corner of the world a little more beautiful than before. Thank you for reading my story, I hope you find something here that speaks life into you.
Most of all, I hope you come to know the God who pours His Spirit into the broken parts of our lives and creates something new and more beautiful than we could have ever asked for or imagined. Blessings to you today and always.
